Founded in 1933, Practising Law Institute (“PLI”) is a non-profit continuing legal education organization chartered by the Regents of the University of the State of New York. PLI wanted to create “Practice Centers” to showcase PLI’s research attorneys, development attorneys and guest contributors working in patent and securities law. Both Practice Centers also allow visitors to participate in the discussions and share their points of view. PLI sought a technology partner to help quickly launch these Practice Centers with minimum upfront investment.
Invogen teamed with PLI to design and build the two practice centers in less than two months. To reduce the upfront infrastructure investment, Invogen leveraged open source technologies to build the Practice Centers and cloud infrastructure to host the websites. Invogen’s cost efficient approach enabled PLI to increase its social media presence and attract new faculties, students and attendees. Invogen is currently providing hosting and support for the Practice Centers as well as ongoing enhancements to the websites.
HarperCollins’ Children division wanted to launch 100 titles in its “I Can Read” children’s series on the Apple iBookstore to coincide with Apple’s iBook 2.0 release, which included “Read and Listen” capabilities. HarperCollins had cleared distribution rights with its authors and had all the print-ready assets. Timing was of the essence. HarperCollins had been working with Invogen on a number of eBook conversion projects and viewed Invogen as a trusted partner. For the “I Can Read” launch in iBookstore, HarperCollins needed to convert all the titles and provide audio synchronization with the books in less than a month.
Invogen worked closely with HarperCollins’ production department to gather the necessary assets required for the eBook conversion with audio synchronization. HarperCollins provided print-ready book files, hard copies of the books and audio files in MP3 format. Invogen worked diligently to convert the print-ready book into EPUB3 format and matched the text with the audio files to ensure each word was synchronized with the text.
Invogen delivered 100 titles with audio synchronization in one month’s time to meet HarperColilns and Apple’s launch deadline. As of September 2011, Invogen is responsible for delivering 65% of all children’s picture books in the Apple iBookstore. Invogen continues to work with HarperCollins to convert eBooks and enhanced eBooks to meet the growing demand for digital products.
Luxury Attaché, a lifestyle management company, was expanding its businesses and recognized the need to increase the use of technology to better manage growth and its clients’ demands, but did not want to make a significant investment in buying hardware and software as well as having to pay for installation services. Luxury Attaché needed a technology partner to provide advice on a cost effective technology strategy to implement and meet its business needs.
Invogen determined Luxury Attaché needed a centralized repository to store and manage its clients’ information which included personal information, preferences and requests for services. Upon evaluating existing solutions that required licensing fees and costly customization of software to meet Luxury Attaché’s needs, Invogen and Luxury Attaché agreed to leverage Invogen Solutions.
Invogen created detailed requirements, application designs and deployed the application into logical releases while training the entire company on a client relationship management application called FOLIO, which managed Luxury Attaché’s client and vendor relationships. Invogen has since helped Luxury Attaché extend FOLIO to integrate with third party websites and partners. Invogen continues to advise Luxury Attaché onits technology direction while providing ongoing support of its website and applications.
Happy Rock Merchant Solutions, a leading merchant cash advance funding company, needed a customer relationship management (CRM) system to manage their portfolio and deal flow, from underwriting to collection. Happy Rock could not find any solution that supported the multi-billion dollar merchant cash advance industry. The viable alternatives were: changing their business processes based on what current solutions can offer (i.e., Salesforce) or build a custom solution to meet their business needs.
Happy Rock didn’t see the need to make a technology investment as it was not their core competency. Instead, Happy Rock chose to partner with Invogen to jointly develop a merchant cash advance (MCA) platform for the industry. Happy Rock provided business expertise and industry best practices to serve as core business requirements. Invogen used the requirements create the Invogen MCA platform that met Happy Rock’s needs and filled a void in the merchant cash advance industry. Invogen’s MCA platform is the first hosted end-to-end solution for merchant cash advance funding companies. Invogen continues to work with Happy Rock and other merchant cash advance companies to provide ongoing enhancements to the MCA platform.
Point.360 wanted to redefine the video rental and retail industry by launching MovieQ, a state of the art automated kiosk to serve customers 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Through the MovieQ kiosks, customers can access 10,000+ movie and video game titles that were traditionally in 5,000 square feet retail stores such as Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Point.360 engaged Invogen to help redesign MovieQ’s technical architecture and user interface and to help launch the kiosks, website and three retail stores.
Invogen assessed the MovieQ technical architecture and made significant technology modifications to the kiosk software. Concurrently, Invogen redesigned MovieQ’s automated kiosks interface and website by implementing an intuitive user interface that helps customers easily navigate through the browse and checkout experience. Finally, Invogen integrated the MovieQ website, kiosks and video dispensing system that drives automation at the retail stores. The result was a successful business launch of the MovieQ retail stores in three Southern California locations.
After launching the MovieQ stores, Invogen helped Point.360 hire and train the proper resources required to support the three retail locations. Invogen also transferred all the knowledge it acquired from the project to the appropriate full time resources.
